In this course you will discover how to use Fiery’s built in workflow tools that will simplify complex printing tasks. Whether you are printing from applications or working with ready-made files, EFI provides flexible automation solutions.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the automation tools that are included with every Fiery Server and Command Workstation 6
  • Identify and use Command Workstations Drag and Drop features.
  • Implement Fiery Job Presets that can be used by Fiery printer drivers and utilities to reduce repetitive printing tasks.
  • Define Fiery Job Presets and Virtual Printers that will be used by Fiery print drivers, utilities and Hot folders to reduce repetitive print tasks

Build and deploy Fiery Hot Folders to streamline job submission and improve consistency and efficiency in your daily printing    

By the end of this module, you will be able to create and implement Job Presets to automate common printing tasks from your desktop or using Command Workstation.
By the end of this module, you will be able to create and publish Virtual Printers, that define and automate predefined Job Properties on Fiery workstations when printing from applications.
By the end of this module, you will be able to transfer jobs and use the Drag and Drop interface of Command WorkStation efficiently.
By the end of this module, you will be able to use Hot Folders to create an automated method for routing jobs to a Fiery server, through simple drag & drop or print-to-file actions.
By the end of this module, you will be able to create and utilize special Fiery Hot Folders using filters to print files from that have been created in Microsoft applications while applying defined job properties. Using the optional Graphic Arts Premium Addition package, you can also create Hot folders that will process and print many industry standard file formats including DCS, 1-Bit TIFF, TIFF/IT, CT/LW, Export PS and PDF2Go. We will review the basic settings that can be applied to each Hot Folder Filter.

Congratulations! In this course, you have been shown some of the most common print workflow problems. You gained an understanding of how to use Fiery Command WorkStation 6 to effectively automate job submission while applying the appropriate job properties.

 

I showed you how to create Fiery Job Property presets to reduce manual and repetitive printing tasks and reduce errors. Utilizing drag and drop features, I showed you how to transfer Jobs into Command WorkStation efficiently and reviewed Jobs in Server queues to increase productivity. By employing Virtual Printers and Hot Folders, you can now streamline job submission and improve consistency and efficiency in your daily printing. And by deploying

 

Fiery Hot Folders filters along with the extended capabilities of the Graphic Arts Package, Premium Edition, I showed you how you can effectively automate job submission with files that cannot be easily printed to the Fiery server. Those files include Microsoft Office formats and other special file formats.
